- The most popular and common transport type in Odessa are the minibus taxis.
- Route number is specified on a sign in the front window as well as on the side, together with the major stops of the route.
- Stops include fixed stops and request stops. For a "request" stop, the passenger must make a verbal request to the driver. The driver should be informed of the stop beforehand.
- There are seating and standing places in the more comfortable minibuses.
- Passenger fare in the minibus taxis is 2 UAH for most routes. The payment is to the driver when leaving the minibus.
- The passenger leaves via the front door, but it is also possible to get out through the back door if you pass the fare to the driver beforehand and verbally request the driver to open the back door.
- On request, the driver can answer questions and help with the stop required or to notify the passenger of the upcoming stop when he/she needs to get out. Note: minibus drivers only speak Russian! It may be useful to write the address or destination you want in Cyrillic and show it to the driver (or a helpful passenger) when you board the minibus.
- One can board the minibuses at specified stops, where you need to hold out your hand and wave down the minibus. (Take into account that depending on the situation on the road or the number of passengers already in the bus, the minibus may not stop).
Unfortunately during rush hours (from 7.30 to 9.30 am and from 17.30 to 19.00 pm) trams, trolleybuses, buses and fixed-route taxis can be overcrowded and journey times can be longer because of traffic jams.
