Foreign currency exchange in Odessa is available everywhere, in banks, and at exchange booths located on the street or inside other shops.
Sometimes, exchange rates may be indicated in “conventional units”, which, as a rule, stands for US Dollars, but in some cases, it may mean Euros (check this with the exchange booth or bank if you are not sure). There is usually no additional commission for exchanging currency.
Banks and ATMs in Odessa and other Ukrainian cities generally accept the following credit and debit cards: Visa, MasterCard, Maestro, and American Express. ATMs are available in hotels, as well as in many supermarkets, large trade centers, and restaurants. Although credit cards are quite widely used in Odessa, you should still have some cash currency with you.
